Next step is to see if I can get some waypoints and a route, created on Homeport, to transfer to the GPS. The primary reason that I went with the Garmin unit over Lowrance is the quickdraw feature, but I have yet to be able to make the LakeVu or Quickdraw maps successfully populate Homeport. The amount of space taken up on the card by the charts was 1.88GB. I did nothing different - matter of fact, I tried every possible way last week, to no avail. I have no idea why the card worked today and not last week. Hopefully at least one way has worked and I. Ken Coertze managed to convert them for me today anyway, but I have also done it the way you suggested.

That took about one minute, but now I have full functionality on the pc. Run it up on homeport, then click on the ADM file name (User Data) that you saved on the card, then got to file - Export and it will save the contents as a GPX file. Brought the card home, stuck it into the SD card reader on my PC and it automatically started uploading the charts to Homeport. I tell it to transfer the charts to the card, which it does. Immediately it recognized the card and asked me what I want to do. I take my jumbo SD card down there today and, on a lark, stick it into the slot in the 740s. Perplexed why would the plotter recognized the 2 GB card and not the 32 GB card? too big? new card isn't dead b/c windows recognizes it. Of course, I couldn't do this backup either b/c the plotter kept asking for me to insert a card, despite it already being inserted. So I pull out the laptop, re-format the card and now try to get the pre-loaded charts from the Plotter onto the card so that I can upload them to HomePort to get detail. Plotter asked me to insert a card though the card was already there. I wanted to try and upload those waypoints but couldn't. Now the plotter is not recognizing the presence of the card at all. gdb file extension) and took it to the boat.

Meanwhile, I bought a 32GB card and re-backed up those same waypoints to the card at home (this time in the. I think I used the wrong file extension when I EXPORTED it (I used. Took it to the unit and it didn't recognize the format. I set up a few waypoints and backed them up to a 2GB SD card (that had been formatted and was clean). I also downloaded to my home PC whatever the latest version of HomePort is. Copy the data from HomePort to the prepared memory card.

I recently purchased and installed a Garmin 740s. Copying Waypoints, Routes, and Tracks from HomePort to a Chartplotter Before you can copy data to the chartplotter, you must have the latest version of the HomePort software program loaded on your computer and a memory card installed in the chartplotter.
